Very Long Red and Gold Pinch Pleat Second-Hand Curtains W312 D363

This listing is for a pair of very long red and gold asymmetrical shaped pinch pleat second-hand curtains with interlining. These very unusual curtains, where one curtain is wider than the other,  originally came to us back in August 2019 from a large country house in Staffordshire dating back to the 1450’s.

These fabulous curtains were hung round a corner of one of the reception rooms. The longer side was a window and the short side covered a door to the cellar!! In under one week we sold these to the owner of a very smart apartment in the grounds of Durham Cathedral.

These fabulous second-hand  curtains have now come back to us as our once customer and now client has retired and we are delighted to be able to sell them again as they are particularly interesting as well as very beautiful. We use the word shaping because there is quite a difference between the short (inside) drop and the much longer (outside) drop as you can see from the measurement details below.

Our ratings for these amazing curtains are as follows: –

The  fabric of the curtains are in very good overall condition with no noticeable damage or marks. The leading (short drop) edges are showing some fading (see picture 4) mainly because the curtains were very rarely drawn closed. Picture 5 shows the different striped fabric that runs on the lining side of the curtains from the bottom of the short drop down to the outside drop edge. – Rating 8.5/10

The  linings of both curtains are good and clean with no discernible marks or stains or fading – Rating 9/10

This pair of curtains will fit a track/pole up to a BEST WIDTH of 110 ins or 279 cms. The maximum width of the pair is 123 ins or 312 cms. 

The wider curtain, with a gathered width of 79 ins or 201 cms has a long outside drop of 143 ins or 363 cms. The inside shorter drop is 112 ins or 285 cms.

The narrower curtain, with a gathered width of 44 ins or 111 cms has a long outside drop of 171 ins or 434 cms. The inside shorter drop is 106 ins or 269 cms.

Our client just loved the curtains so much he didn’t even bother altering them but just hung them and you can see them in his dining room in the gallery pictures of this listing.
